Legit point about "personal" altho the context is a little different..meaning the person probably doesn't really have anything against you as a person; but it still feels "personal" bc it was YOU they turned down..

"good enough" is a little too harsh I think, it's probably better and more accurate that you weren't "who they had in mind"
