I don't think so. That approach splits people further apart and pits them against each other, even if it's unintentional. And that's a losing proposition for all of us...bc it's unlikely people will respond to well to the, "I'm worse off than you" approach...it comes across as self absorbed and self serving..

Instead, the better approach is to focus on what every single human being needs and deserves from each other, like kindness, respect, fairness, justice, understanding..etc..

That's the truth that has the potential to open peoples minds and hearts to one another...and if that occurs, people will naturally want to address the unique problems, bigotry and bias they see their fellow human beings trying to cope with individually and as a part of a marginalized group..

What we need more of is better people..
